Permanent Supportive Housing

Since 1995, Better Way of Miami, Inc. has been offering several housing solutions. The Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) programs are housing interventions that combine affordable housing with voluntary supportive services to assist individuals and families experiencing homelessness, particularly those with disabilities, in achieving and maintaining stable housing.

Better Way of Miami, Inc. housing options are supported by United States Housing and Urban Development (USHUD); Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust and the City of Miami Housing & Community Development in conjunction with the Fair Housing Act.​

Better Way of Miami, Inc. housing programs are designed as long-term options, offering indefinite rental assistance and support services tailored to individual needs. They are accessible and affordable for individuals who may not be able to afford housing on their own. A range of services are offered, which may include, but are not limited, to case management, healthcare, employment assistance, substance use and mental health services.

Our housing primarily serves individuals experiencing chronic homelessness, particularly those with disabilities, who may face multiple barriers to housing stability. Better Way housing is intended to be a long-term solution, and there is no predetermined time limit for how long individuals can remain in the program.

The overarching goal of Better Way housing is to help individuals achieve and maintain stable housing, improving their overall well-being. The programs emphasize individualized service plans, tailoring support to the specific needs of each participant as well as helping individuals reintegrate into the community by addressing their housing needs and providing ongoing support.
